  • Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a type of massage aimed at treating specific health conditions or injuries, rather than simply promoting relaxation. Its goal is to alleviate pain, improve mobility and enhance overall wellness by targeting muscles, tendons and ligaments. The session is tailored to the individual's needs, making it versatile in addressing various health issues.

    Different techniques used include:

    deep tissue

    trigger point

    myofascial release

    swedish

    sports

    active, passive and PNF stretching.

  • Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is a specialized form of therapeutic massage tailored to the needs of pregnant women. Growing a baby is taxing to the body! This massage aims to promote relaxation, relieve common pregnancy discomforts and support the overall health and well-being of both the mother and baby.

Body positioning: Special care is taken to position the body comfortably. Usually, a side-lying position with supportive pillows is used to avoid putting pressure on the abdomen and ensure proper blood flow.

Safety considerations: Prenatal massage is generally considered safe for most women, especially after the first trimester, but it's always recommended to consult a healthcare provider before beginning massage therapy during pregnancy. It's also essential to work with a trained therapist who has experience in prenatal massage to ensure proper techniques and safety measures are followed.

If you are high risk please reach out beforehand so we can talk. I want to make sure you are in the best hands possible.

  • Thai Massage

Thai massage is a traditional healing practice that combines acupressure, Ayurvedic principles and assisted yoga postures. It is often referred to as "Thai yoga massage" because of the use of stretching techniques that align the body, improve flexibility and relieve tension. Unlike typical western style massages, Thai massage is usually done on a mat on the floor, with the recipient fully clothed. Clothing that should be worn is loose, pajama like/lounge wear. No lotion, or oil is used during this massage.

Key characteristics of Thai massage include:

Pressure points: The practitioner applies pressure along the body's energy lines (called "sen lines") using hands, open palms, finger tips, elbows, fists, knees and feet.

Stretching: Incorporating passive, active and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching, which increases flexibility, ROM (range of motion) and muscle strength.

Holistic Approach: Thai massage addresses the body, mind, and spirit, focusing on balance and energy flow.

Our Enhancements

  • Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine that places cups strategically on the body and negative pressure is used to lift and separate layers of muscle tissue. This has a great impact on tight "sticky fascia" and improves overall slide and glide of your muscles, improving overall tone. Silicone, plastic and automatic cups are used to promote healing, relieve muscle tension, improve circulation and reduce inflammation.

  • Gua sha or muscle scraping is a traditional Chinese healing technique that uses a smooth edged tool to scrap along the skin. It improves circulation, reduces inflammation and promotes healing by stimulating blood flow and releasing muscle tension.

  • Flexible, adhesive tape designed to support muscles, tendons, and ligaments without restricting movement. The tape lifts the skin slightly, allowing for better blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which can reduce swelling and speed up recovery. It is water resistant and can be worn for several days.

    Tape frequently used: Rock tape

  • Heated basalt stones will be used on certain areas of the body. The heat from the stones help to relax muscles, increase blood circulation, and promote a sense of overall relaxation and well-being.

Will be adding cold stones & Himalayan salt stones soon

  • Near-infrared light 660nm & 850nm is able to penetrate the skin and promote healing, reduce inflammation and enhance cell function. Promotes faster healing of wounds, scars, and burns by increasing cell turnover and regeneration.

    How does it work?

Red light penetrates the skin at a cellular level, where it is absorbed by mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell). This boosts the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the cell's energy source, which in turn enhances cellular repair and regeneration.
